BEIRUT- Lebanese media and news sent online early on Thursday reported that Syrian singer George Wassouf was moved early to an intensive care unit at a Beirut hospital.
While the sources could not determine the cause of illness, local media said Wassouf, 50, had suffered a stroke.
Conflicted reports and rumors flourished here and there about his condition. One report said that he went into Coma which was caused by Brain haemorrhage. Another one refuted this and said he is suffering of Brain haemorrhage only and he did not get into Coma.
News said that Wassouf has been hospitalized at Al-Shami hospital in capital Damascus, before he was transferred to the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), formerly known as American University Hospital (AUH), at dawn Thursday.
George Wassouf, 50 years old, is a famous star singer all over the Arab World. His nick-name at fame was Sultan al-Tarab and his plenty fans amend him footages and pages at all social media online where they hail his songs and support him at all circumstances.
