DAMASCUS- Shukri Abu el-Burghol, Journalist at al-Thawra Newspaper, on Monday was succumbed to his wounds after being shot by an armed terrorist group few days ago in Darayya in Damascus Countryside.
Journalist Shekri Abu el-Burghol was injured on Saturday in his home in Darayya in Damascus countryside when a bullet fired by an armed terrorist group struck in the head.
Shekri's son Adham told the Syrian TV that while they were sitting at home, they heard intense gunfire nearby. Wanting to know what was happening, his father stood up, which was when a bullet shot through a window and struck him in the eye.
Shekri's other son Maher said that gunfire was very intense and couldn't have been more than 100 meters away from their home, and that when his father stood up the bullet hit him under his eye and came out from near his ear.
Late on Sturday, Dr. Mohammad Zuhair al-Qazzaz from al-Muwasat Hosptial reported that Shekri suffered a gunshot beneath the left eye, causing bleeding. He assured that the patient received the suitable emergency treatment and that specialists were called to administer further treatment to his eye and ear.
