DAMASCUS- President Bashar al-Assad held a meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the People's Palace in Damascus on Monday afternoon.
President al-Assad, the Emir of Qatar and the Turkish Premier welcomed Lebanon's decision to postpone parliamentary consultations until the political efforts move to help the Lebanese find a solution that serves the interests of the Lebanese people and Lebanon's stability.
Talks during the meeting tackled the latest developments in the region, particularly the crisis in Lebanon, with the three leaders affirming keenness on finding a solution to this crisis based on the Syrian-Saudi good offices to achieve accord among the Lebanese and prevent escalation.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Muhammad Al Thani, and Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu.
Afterwards, President al-Assad held a luncheon banquet in honor of Emir of Qatar and the Turkish Premier attended by the three Foreign Ministers.
