DAMASCUS- Chairing the cabinet's session on Saturday, Prime Minister Adel Safar said announced that a comprehensive plan for the reforms will be prepared by the government in the coming weeks under three main tracks: political reform, security and judicial reform, economic reform, social policies and the development of administration and governmental work.
Safar stated that “three committees of well-qualified administrative, technical and legal staffs with a wide participation of different vocational, popular, social and political forces will be formed to draw up the tracks of reforms.”
Syrian Premier explained “Those committees will work on studying the areas of reform in the abovementioned sectors and propose the required mechanisms and measures, including the necessary modification of some laws and legislations, and later submitting the studies to the cabinet to be approved.”
In the same context for reform process and fast response to the citizens' demands and needs; Primer Safar referred to the draft law on local administration which is being prepared, he indicated to Local Administration Ministry's plan to carry out developing plans and brief outlines for Syrian cities and to reconsider mechanisms to control its departments in order to provide the needed areas for housing and to enable citizens to get suitable authorized and legal licenses.
At the issue of how to provide job opportunities for young people; the cabinet agreed on the proposal of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor which is related to carry out employment programs for job-seekers at private sector companies and institutions and assigned the Ministry to coordinate with those institutions to apply these programs on ground.
