Franco-Arab Film Festival in Damascus

DAMASCUS- The French Cultural Center in Damascus is organizing The Franco-Arab Film Festival from July 3 to 13, 2011, at which a selection of recent films of French filmmakers and the Arab World would be presented at the CCF in Damascus. Some shows have been also organised in Aleppo and Latakia.

The festival`s goal is to share movies that have not had the opportunity to be projected in Syria. The films will be screened according to the following schedule:

“Men and Gods” by Xavier Beauvois (France, 2010, 2 hours) Sunday, July 3 to 19h CCF

“The final transfiguration of the Ghaylan” of Haitham Hakki Damascus (Syria, 2010, 2 hours) Monday 4 July 19h at CCF in Damascus
“The daily life of a Syrian village” of Omar Amiralay (Syria, 1974, 1:25) Tuesday, July 5 to 19h at CCF Damascus and Saturday, July 9 to 17h at CCF in Damascus
“Cairo Women” Yousry Nasrallah (Egypt, 2009, 2:15) Wednesday, July 6 to 17h CCF

“Tightness of Najwa” Limam Slama (Tunisia, 2010, 18mn) Wednesday, July 6 to 19h at CCF in Damascus
“Thalathoun” by Fadhel Jaziri (Tunisia, 2007, 1:51) Wednesday, July 6 at 19:30 at the CCF in Damascus
“Pegase” Mouftakir Mohamed (Morocco, 2010, 1:45) Thursday, July 7 to 17h at CCF in Damascus

“Microphone” Ahmad Abdallah (Egypt, 2010, 2 hours) Monday, July 11 to 17h at CCF in Damascus

“Film essay on the dam of the Euphrates” Omar Amiralay (Syria, 1970, 12 minutes) Monday, July 11 to 19h at CCF Damascus and Wednesday, July 13 to 17h at CCF in Damascus
“Hens” Omar Amiralay (Syria, 1977, 40 minutes) Monday, July 11th at 19:30 at the CCF and the Damascus Wednesday, July 13 at 17:30 CCF Damascus
“Lapping” Nidal Al-Dibs (Syria, 2005, 1:40) Tuesday, July 12 to 19h at CCF in Damascus

“September Rain” Abdullatif Abdulhamid (Syria, 2010, 1:27) Wednesday, July 13 to 19h at CCF Damascus

Festival dates schedule outside Damascus are:

Aleppo 10 to 18 July 2011
Latakia of 3 to 11 July 2011
