Interior Ministry urges Citizens to Don`t Respond to Online Calls for Protest in Damascus Squares

(Dp-news)

DAMASCUS- Syrian Ministry of Interior calls on citizens and residents to do not respond to invitations at social networking websites, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, to participates in protests, rallies or gatherings in public squares in Damascus in order not to prevent harming their safety.

According to Interior Ministry statement that was published by state-run news agency SANA “the Ministry stresses the role of citizens in bolstering security and stability and uncovering the ramifications of these malicious invitations.”

Earlier on Saturday, SANA reported “A government source denied reports about its intention to lift subsidization on fuel and the energy carriers, increasing car fees, electricity sets or luxury materials.”

The source told SANA “the reports circulated by some newspapers and websites as baseless, underlining that the government is determined to go on with its economic policies in the interest of all citizens.”

Conflicting reports have been coming from Damascus about clashes between protestors and authorities forces since early morning on Saturday.

Syrian activists say government forces targeted people protesting against the President. But Syrian official media, state-run media agency and TV has denied there were any protests in the capital and accused 'provocative' satellite channels, including Al Jazeera and Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya, of fabricating events.
